PEDAGOGY
At Toddlerz Nursery each child is viewed as infinitely capable, creative and intelligent. The role of the practitioner is to support these qualities and to challenge children in appropriate ways.
What makes our pedagogy special? At Toddlerz Nursery we recognise ‘play as the language of childhood’ and the best way for children to be learning. We recognise play as giving children the opportunity to gain and embed new skills, develop their understanding and demonstrate their competencies.
Our pedagogy has been developed through experience. They also encompass the principles of the EYFS. Each of the elements of pedagogy are designed to strengthen children’s education success.
We understand what children learn is important, but for us how children learn comes first. It is therefore through play that we support children to build their confidence and independence. Though our interactions and planning we empower children to choose, to reason, reflect, imagine and empathise thus embedding the characteristics for effective learning both now and for the future.
Toddlerz Nursery/Pre-school stands for educational specialists, wholehearted commitment and comprehensive child care. Increasing demands are being made on childcare facilities, since all parents want the very best for their children, right from their very first learning experiences. In addition, there is now a marked trend towards intellectual education for children, but still children also need to play, move, get enough exercise and discover their own bodies.
Our nursery/pre-school achieves both objectives by offering space for moving around, plenty of opportunity for play, a small library and various facilities for creative activity.
Our aim is to support each child through his or her own development.
We are Ofsted registered.
OUR NEXT OPEN DAY: TBA
We opened in January 2015 after our other setting became fully subscribed and we are very proud to have acheived an Outstanding Ofsted grading on our very first inspection.
We offer full day care 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday (subject to availability).
We are open all year round to help working parents in the school holidays. We are Ofsted registered for children between the age of 12 months and 8 years and are also members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance. Our membership of the Pre School Learning Alliance ensures that we are constantly in touch with new thinking in the field of childcare and education and also allows our staff to take new training courses regularly to keep up to date with all new training that is available.
We can offer you excellent facilities for your child to mature and develop in a child oriented environment. As we register children from the age of 12 months, we do not require them to be toilet trained. All of our staff are DBS cleared so you can feel they are in safe hands when their personal care is needed.
We have a wide range of equipment with which to extend your child's knowledge, experience and cultural awareness. The staff have a wealth and breadth of experience, which is backed by a variety of qualifications in the childcare field. We have a secure outside area for the children to enjoy which has a soft play surface laid for the children to play safely.
We take the children out in our minibus on trips to the Organic Farm in Woodford and they also love their trip out Strawberry
picking. We also visit the park, shops and the local pet shop. At Christmas we attend the local pantomime.
